Collection of drawings of Ivan Palčić

The Gallery holds the legacy of Ivan Palčić (drawings /sketches with felt pen, a number of interesting drawings with carbon and pencil done in the manner of 1920s realism, his poems, letters, photographs) who, upon his return from world metropolises to Caska near Novalja, the place of his birth, almost disappeared from the Croatian figurative art scne. Instead of an opus he has left behind fragments.
Pupil of Auer, Čikoš and Bukovac, he is additionally interesting because he exemplifies the fate of the Croatian bohemians gathered around A. G. Matoš. He is another instance of an unrealized Zadar painter's fate who has left behind fragments and not a complete opus.
