PUBLISHING
Since its inception, the Zadar National Museum has developed a publishing program comprising a wide range of titles—including publications accompanying exhibitions organized or co-organized by the museum, as well as works unrelated to specific exhibitions but aligned with the scholarly fields covered by its various departments. In this context, the museum collaborates with other publishers to co-produce significant publications that showcase the cultural-historical and natural heritage of the broader Zadar region.
The systematic collection and processing of publications began with the establishment of the Documentation Service; since 2005, metadata has been processed in the S++ database within the publishing activity records. The publishing collection comprises catalogs, books, brochures, leaflets, and monographs, while posters are processed as a separate collection. Printed editions are stored chronologically, organized by department and for the museum as a whole, and are available for loan to external users. Digital editions are stored chronologically and by title in computer folders. An overview of the publications is also available on the museum's website.
